Situated in northern Oakland County, Clarskton is the Mayberry of the Detroit area. A beautiful Mill Town on the National Register, with one of Henry Ford’s waterworks that originally powered a small Ford operation. Clarkston is also home to the original Ford tractor test farm and a Ford-sponsored school for the blind.

Harrison West is located in a 110 year old building that has been a hardware store, a shoe store, a real estate office and now our studio and home.

Harrison West - Midland

A building exterior with a large "Furniture Garage" sign painted on the wall and a planter made from stacked tires.

Our Midland store was built in the 1920’s as a Rambler Nash auto showroom.  The funny thing is that the showroom area is so small that they couldn’t have displayed more than 2 or 3 cars in the space.  But the service area when combined with the showroom gives us plenty of space for a boutique furniture showroom and design studio.

Harrison West Midland is probably our most modern offering, reflecting the community of Midland itself.  The city has such a mid-century history, and many furniture shoppers are happy to continue that direction wether they have a mid-century home or not.  Midland is also a very cosmopolitan city, with so many of our customers having lived abroad at some point.

Harrison West - Grandville

3700 Rivertown Pkwy #1053, Grandville, MI 49418

Our Grandville store is located in the Rivertown Crossings mall.  The space is beautiful with plenty of natural light, tall ceilings and our own exterior entrance.

I am a fan of retail and in particular a fan of the regional department store.  I remember Marshall Field’s State Street store when it was 14 floors, and the huge Hudson’s store in Detroit before it was demolished.  I love the idea of retail, and I am very happy to have our Grand Rapids area store at Rivertown Crossings, with the hope that the joy of retail can return to major malls.

Come and visit our store, the mall is not as dead as you may have heard, and perhaps you will enjoy a few hours at the mall.
